Nov. 23 Greenfield Turkey Day 5K

This year on Thanksgiving the Greenfield Turkey Day 5K will begin at 9 a.m. with the starting line at 23 N. East St in Greenfield. The 5K price is $35, 1 Mile walk/run is $25, and the youth price (with a medal but no shirt) for either distance is $12. There will be an optional race packet pickup the night before from 6-7 p.m. at Wooden Bear Brewing. Sign up online today! 

Nov. 25 Small Business Saturday

Traditionally, the day after Black Friday is Small Business Saturday, which Greenfield Main Street helps to promote each year. Head downtown on Nov. 25 to shop your favorite local businesses, including clothes boutiques like Francis & Fern, Three Unique Boutique, bakeries like Confection Connection or Greenfield Chocolates as well as specialty shops like Udders N’ Suds or the Gilded Nest. We know they’ll be happy to see you! Plus, several local artisans will be joining for a special Pop-Up Market.

Dec. 1 – Dec. 15 Greenfield Parks Mail Your Letter to Santa

For all school-aged children. Drop your letter at one of Santa’s mailboxes between November 27th and December 15th at the Patricia Elmore Center for Depot Street Park and then wait for your reply from Santa himself! Make sure to include an unsealed self addressed envelope with postage for your return letter.

Dec. 1 Hancock County Arts Council’s Festival of Trees Begins

Throughout December visit Hancock County Arts Council’s Twenty North Gallery for the annual Christmas Tree Festival. Around a dozen decorated trees by businesses or nonprofit organizations can be found and individuals may vote for their favorite tree by bringing an unwrapped gift for each tree’s favorite charity.

Dec. 2 Greenfield Indiana Christmas Parade & Tree Lighting

Join your friends and neighbors on Saturday December 2, 2023 for the iconic Greenfield Christmas Parade, tree lighting and downtown window decorating contest hosted by the Riley Festival and the City of Greenfield. The festivities kick-off around 5:30 with the parade line-up near American Legion Place. The parade starts at 6:30 p.m. and will end near a festively decorated The Depot Park. Parade entry applications are available on the Riley Festival website. All parade entries must have a minimum of 500 lights.

Dec. 2 Holiday Bazaar at Greenfield-Central High School

Head out to the 10th annual Holiday Bazaar from 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. to shop with approximately 100 vendors. Hosted by GCHS FCCLA, this is a great chance to find the perfect local gifts or homemade baked goods, pick up breakfast or lunch, and visit Santa with the little ones. 

TBD  Greenfield Elks Brunch with Mr. and Mrs. Clause

Visit Greenfield Elks Lodge #1720 at on TBD for a free brunch with Santa with Mrs. Clause. Be sure to bring your camera to capture a photo of your child, and you can also enjoy games, activities and prizes for kids of all ages. 

Dec. 2 Fortville Winterfest

Celebrate the holiday season at Fortville Winterfest on Dec. 2 from noon-7 p.m. Enjoy a festive parade at 1:30 p.m. to get the party started, visits with Santa, a kids’ zone, art displays, live music, food and beverage vendors, local shopping, family photo ops, and the tree lighting at 6 p.m. to cap things off. 

Dec. 2 Shirley’s Octagon House Christmas Walk

The annual Christmas Walk at Shirley’s Octagon House will be held throughout the day on Dec. 2. Tours are free and you can also pick up a free bite to eat. Enjoy seventeen rooms with seventeen differently decorated trees and other holiday decorations. 

Dec. 2 Cumberland Weihnachtsmarkt

This fun event can add some German flair to your holiday celebration. Enjoy vendors, food trucks, entertainment, free face paining, and balloon bending from 12-7. Santa arrives at 5 pm followed by a more adult flavored evening of live music and beer trucks! Head to the town of Cumberland website for more info and a line up of events.

Dec. 9 Hancock County Children’s Choir Holiday Concert

The Hancock County Children’s Choir invites you to their “Home for Christmas” concert on Dec. 9 at Mt Vernon High School in Fortville, Indiana. Enjoy a delightful concert full of favorite holiday melodies that will fill your heart with Christmas spirit. Performances will be available at both 2:30 and 7 p.m. 

Dec. 16 Ho Ho Ho Holiday Breakfast with Santa

Join jolly old Saint Nick and Mrs. Claus on Saturday, Dec. 16 for a delicious breakfast buffet including a little ones’ hot cocoa bar with favorite toppings, along with holiday arts and crafts area, holiday music and other festive fun. A few of Santa’s reindeer plan on making an appearance too. Located at Bradley Hall, 8 a.m., 9:30 a.m. and 11 a.m. seating is available and tickets can be purchased online.

Dec. 16 Reindeer on Main

Meet Santa’s reindeer before they have to head back to the North Pole and step inside Penny Lane’s vintage VW photo bus to enjoy a complimentary holiday family photo. Gourmet hot cocoa and freshly roasted holiday nuts will be available for purchase. Plus, enjoy shopping local for a few last-minute gifts at our mini holiday market just inside the Bradley Hall Events building lobby. 

H.J. Ricks Centre for the Arts Holiday Season

The Ricks Centre will have a full holiday season, starting with Christmas at the Ricks on December 16th featuring violinist Cathy Morris. Learn more or keep an eye out for additional events on their website

Tuttle Orchards Holiday Hours 

Tuttle Orchards is also a great place to pick up your favorite holiday gifts this season. The Farm Store will be open Mon-Sat 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and will be closed on Sundays, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day & New Year’s Day. Some of their most popular holiday products include Thanksgiving turkeys, holiday gift boxes or treats from Cafe, holiday fruit baskets, and take & bake holiday pies.
