At approximately 1,050 employees, Covance is the next biggest employer in Hancock County. Covance serves as the pharmaceutical development side of the well-known LabCorp, and is the most comprehensive drug development company in the world.
Covance has been around for decades, and their mission is to “transform today’s healthcare challenges into tomorrow’s solutions.” This pharmaceutical company employs individuals for a wide variety of services including product testing, pathology, toxicology, laboratory trials and clinical development.
Elanco Animal Health
As an agricultural area in the Midwest, it’s likely no surprise that Elanco Animal Health is another one of the top employers in Hancock County. With approximately 770 employees, Elanco produces innovative animal care products in order to improve the health of animals and those who care for them.
As a branch of Central Indiana-based Eli Lilly and Company, this business has a rich local history that has expanded globally in the last few decades. With their recent acquisition of Bayer Animal Health in 2020, Elanco is positioned to be a “long-term leader in the growing global animal health market.”
Indiana Automotive Fasteners
Next on our list of top employers is Indiana Automotive Fasteners, with about 750 employees. IAFI has the capability to conduct all fastener manufacturing processes under one roof in their Greenfield plant. Their processes include cold forming, rolling or tapping, heat treatment, surface treatment and plastic injection molding.
