FESTIVAL OF JACK-O-LANTERNS AT THE JAMES WHITCOMB RILEY BOYHOOD HOME 

Step into a world of glowing enchantment at the Jack-o-Lantern Festival held at the Riley Boyhood Home. This beloved annual event, running from October 22nd to Halloween night, showcases intricately carved pumpkins that illuminate the darkness. Bring your own carved pumpkin to the Riley home on the 22nd between 12pm-5pm to compete in the pumpkin contest. 

 

ROVER’S HOWL-O-WEEN

Does your pup want to join in on the Halloween fun? Celebrate spooky season with Greenfield Parks Department’s Rover’s Howl-O-Ween vendor fair. The event will be held at Rover’s Run Bark Park located in Beckenholdt Park on October 21st from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Your beloved four-legged friends can take part in a costume contest and explore pet-centric vendors. To attend, please ensure you have your current dog park badge or can provide proof of spaying/neutering, Bordetella Vaccine, Rabies Certificate, and Leptospirosis Vaccine for your furry pals.

 

PUMPKINS & PEDDLERS IN SHIRLEY, IN

Shirley, IN hosts their Pumpkins & Peddlers town festival October 20th from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. and 21st from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The parade and car show will take place on October 21st at 10 a.m., and the cars will remain on display in the park until the end of the day. Pumpkin artists of all ages can participate in the pumpkin decorating contest in the Shelter House on Friday from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m, and judging will take place on Saturday at 3 p.m. Prizes will be awarded for best pumpkin carvings grades K-5, 6-12, and adults. Show off your kitchen expertise in Saturday’s recipe contest at 1 p.m. With plenty of food, entertainment, and vendors, there will be something for everyone to enjoy!

 

NEW PALESTINE’S HARVEST FEST

Join New Palestine Main Street for their second annual Harvest Festival taking place on October 21st from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Located at 11 E Main Street, this event promises a wholesome and entertaining experience for the entire family. Get your boots ready for some lively country line dancing, indulge in trunk or treating, savor a variety of delicious offerings from food trucks, pick out the perfect pumpkin from the pumpkin patch, savor the flavors in a chili tasting, and watch your little ones enjoy an array of kids games and activities. It’s a day packed with fall fun, community spirit, and wonderful memories in the making. 

 

FORTVILLE TREATS ON MAIN & F.A.R.M. COMMUNITY FAIR

On October 28th from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the heart of downtown Fortville, enjoy a wonderful collaboration between local Fortville merchants and the Fortville Area Resource Mission for Treats on Main & FARM Community Fair. This event will showcase a variety of exciting activities, including live music, games and delightful treats for children, a costume contest, impressive antique tractors, and a lively parade.
