Is your family ready to greet the new 2023-2024 school year? Make sure to start it off with a bang on July 19th by heading out to Hancock County Community Night! Here are all the details you will need to know…

What is Hancock County Community Night?

Held in Greenfield at the Hancock County Fairgrounds, community night brings a large number of vendors, family activities, free school supplies and more! Peruse booths from local non-profits including the Hope House Thrift Store, Meals on Wheels of Hancock County, Hancock County Food Pantry, LOVE Inc. of Greater Hancock County and the Women’s Resource Center of Hancock County, among others.

Families will also have the chance to get to know first responders and witness demonstrations. You will find fun educational opportunities to learn more about living a healthy lifestyle at booths led by the Healthy365 Connection Center, Hancock Regional Hospital, Community Health and Jane Pauley Community Health Center.

Expect to gain knowledge from organizations dedicated to children’s wellbeing, such as Healthy Families of Indiana, Central Indiana First Steps, Head Start, Children’s Bureau, now known as the Firefly Children and Family Alliance, Hancock4Kids and the Department of Child Services.

Free school supplies is the name of the game!

You can even stop by various locations around the fairgrounds to pick up a backpack full of free school supplies! Folders, binders, hi-liters, paper binders, colored pencils and ink pens are just some of the things you will find at the fairgrounds. In past years, nearly 1,300 backpacks full of things children need for school have been distributed for free thanks to the Hancock County Community Night.

They didn’t forget the FUN!

Food, treats and activities such as a bounce house will also be available for families to enjoy time together!

Head to the Hancock County Fairgrounds on July 19th from 5-8 for the Hancock County Community Night!
