Patients encouraged to call (317) 325-COVD (2683); those with symptoms will be referred to the new Hancock Triage center

Greenfield, IN (March 19, 2020)— Hancock Health has opened a dedicated COVID-19 triage center, Hancock Triage, with appointments available by referral only. Hancock County residents who are experiencing symptoms or have questions are encouraged to call the COVID-19 hotline, open 24 hours a day, seven days a week at (317) 325-COVD. Anyone with symptoms will be sent to Hancock Triage for COVID-19 evaluation.

“At Hancock Health, we recognize that this is a fluid situation and that we must make every effort to meet the needs of our patients and communities,” said Steve Long, President & CEO, Hancock Health and Regional Hospital. “These tools will help us empower the community with the knowledge they need to make informed decisions to keep themselves and their families healthy while helping to minimize the potential spread.”

Appointments at the triage center are only available through the hotline or with a referral from Hancock Physician Network. Appointments can now be scheduled between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. and may have increased hours in the upcoming week. Callers on Sunday will be referred to Gateway or Greenfield Immediate Care.

To best protect individuals, other patients, healthcare professionals, and the public, Hancock Health is not releasing the address of the testing center. There are no walk-up appointments. It’s essential that individuals experiencing symptoms contact the COVID-19 hotline first.

“We’re incredibly supportive of Hancock Heath’s efforts to be the voice of clear, accurate information as we work to keep our community healthy,” said Chuck Fewell, Mayor, City of Greenfield. “We appreciate Hancock’s leadership and direction to ensure those seeking medical attention get the information and care they need.”
