Marissa Shares Tips to Plan Your Next Greenfield Girls Day Out

My best friend and I decided to have a little girls’ day out, and from my past experiences writing about and visiting Greenfield, Indiana, I knew it would be the perfect spot for some shopping, facials and lunch out together. Let me tell you all about our day, and share some tips for planning your own Greenfield Girls Trip!

Shopping Galore

Our first stop of the day was to Dollar Tree because we love a little bargain shopping. I’ll let you in on a little secret, the Dollar Tree in Greenfield is the BEST I’ve found around Central Indiana, primarily because it is always clean and well-stocked. We picked up some craft supplies, seasonal decor and stocking stuffers for our kids – they even have brand-name toys and snacks!

Next up, we walked right next door to Bealls Outlet, formerly known as Burkes and recently announced to be coming together under one name. We found some adorable kids’ clothes and toys here for the upcoming holidays and enjoyed looking at their decor and accessories too. Greenfield is home to several other big-name stores where you and your girls will enjoy shopping, including Maurices, Kohl’s, Big Lots and Walmart (have you seen their cute clothing lines lately?).

Greenfield Coffee and Snacks

After our first round of shopping, we decided it was time for a coffee break at Hitherto Coffee & Gaming Parlour. I’d been here a few times before and was so excited to introduce my best friend to it because we love playing board games together. While we enjoyed our delicious coffee and tea, we got to learn a brand-new (to us) card game from their game library. No matter what type of games you enjoy playing, I highly recommend checking our Hitherto with your gal pals to take a break from your shopping.

Greenfield Thrift Shopping

Right next door to Hitherto is The Branded Exchange consignment store, where we got some cute things for ourselves after shopping all morning for our kids. We both love the savings and sustainability that come with thrift shopping, and I think I could spend all day looking for the best finds in a good thrift store. If you and your best friends also love thrift shopping, be sure to try out The Branded Exchange, Goodwill or the Hope House Thrift Shop, where community members can donate gently-used clothing and other items to stock the store which, in turn, is sold to the public and helps fund the Hope House shelter

Ladies Who Lunch

By this time we were starving, so we headed over to The Depot for some delicious food in a historic setting. Once a fully-functioning grain elevator, The Depot leans into this aesthetic with the original woodwork, machinery and official signage on display. The only thing better than the look of this place is the food, which was incredible. I highly recommend going simple with a burger and fries (and maybe a cocktail) – you and your ladies won’t be disappointed! In addition to all the great shopping in Greenfield, it’s the perfect spot for your next girls’ day because of the many local restaurants located in and around downtown, like Carnegie’s, Griggsby’s Station, Tour of Italy and TRiO Bistro.

Greenfield Spa Experiences

After lunch, we drove over to Salon De’ Elegance for facials! This little moment of self-care is something I was really looking forward to since the colder weather is already taking a toll on my skin, and I haven’t had a facial in a couple of years. We had a wonderful experience at Salon De’ Elegance, and you can also check out a few other local spa options, including Something New at Tiffany’s for hair, nails, massage and professional esthetics, Posh Salon for creative hair, nails and makeup services, or A Focused Touch Day Spa for massage, skincare and spa treatments.

Shopping Downtown Greenfield

After our facials, we decided to walk around downtown and take in the shops and the holiday decorations. Chocolate is always a good idea on a girls’ trip, so we stopped in to see Jane at Greenfield Chocolates and stock up on some treats to share. We also loved checking out the homemade and boutique goods at Francis & Fern, The Gilded Nest and Udders & Suds. If you have the time, I’d try stopping by as many downtown shops as you can to #shopsmall and #shoplocal this holiday season, including Three Unique Boutique, Ella June’s, J.W. Riley’s Emporium and more!

Plan Your Greenfield Girls Day Out Trip

I had so much fun introducing my best friend to all the local treasures in Greenfield, and it was a treat to spend time together doing some of our favorite things – shopping and eating! As we approach the holiday season, I can’t recommend enough the chance to #shopsmall on Small Business Saturday and beyond. Downtown Greenfield is home to so many local shops for our community to support during the busiest shopping season of the year, and I know they’d appreciate your patronage when considering where to spend some time with your best gal pals.
