1. Tuttle Orchards
You know Tuttle’s for fall apple picking and pumpkin patch delight. But, did you know that they carry farm fresh goodies all year round? From January through March, you can enjoy all of the yumminess available in the farm store, including Amish popcorn, jams and jellies, other canned goods, treats and fresh seasonal produce. Not only that, ditching the grocery store in favor of Tuttle’s means you get to eat lunch in their delicious café!
2. Hancock County Arts
Get a fresh perspective on creativity by heading to Twenty North Gallery to see what exhibits are available this month. Then, see where your creativity takes you by signing up for a workshop or class through Hancock County Arts. Rekindle your love of Greenfield by trying something new like needle felting, watercoloring and more!
3. Parks galore
Summer is a great time to head to one of Greenfield’s many parks, but it can be just as fun to bundle up and play in the winter time! Both Depot and Riley Parks are great places to bring the kids, even on a chilly winter day. And if hiking or spending time with wildlife is more your thing, head to one of the many nature preserves or trails in our community!
4. Library
We know, we know, most kids spend enough time with their nose in a book in school and may not think a trip to the library sounds like fun. But, here in Greenfield, we are lucky to have the Hancock County Public Library, a huge, beautiful space full of not only books but fun as well! Check out the library website to see their calendar of events, workshops and other fun activities.
5. Riley Boyhood Home
The Riley Home and Museum is a fun way to transport yourself back into days past. Can your whole family imagine what it would be like to live in the 1800s? Even though winter is off-season, you can still book your family’s personal tour by contacting the museum!
6. Grab a meal or a treat!
Greenfield is not short on family friendly dining opportunities. Check out The Mug, Lincoln Square Pancake House, Tour of Italy, Sugar Creek Brickhouse, Costa’s Grill, The Depot, or Zapp Thai. And after your whole family has tried something new on the menu, head to Libby’s or Greenfield Chocolates for a sweet treat!
7. Play some games
Family game nights are fun, but they don’t have to always be held on your living room floor. Take your family game night on the road by heading to Hitherto Gaming Parlor. Grab a hot chocolate for everyone, a board game and spend some quality time together. Or, purchase a brand-new board game from their vast selection that your family can enjoy for the rest of the winter.
Greenfield offers plenty to do year-round, so rekindle your love for this vibrant, fun community by heading out on the town and enjoying all there is to see and experience!
